UPDATE:  NAMA Facility Donors have now selected the NAMA Coffee Peru to enter the Detailed Preparation Phase. The NAMA Facility and its Donors are pleased to welcome NAMA Coffee Peru as the seventh 5th Call project and are encouraged by the prospect of further supporting ambitous climate action.

The United Kingdom, Germany and the European Commission have committed to fund up to 85 million Euros for 5th Call NAMA Support Projects. The NAMA Facility’s 5th Call saw the submission of 76 project Outlines, from which six have now been chosen by NAMA Facility Donors to enter the Detailed Preparation Phase (DPP). The NAMA Facility is pleased to announce the 5th Call projects entering the DPP:

Upon entering the DPP, projects receive funding and access to expertise to further elaborate the submitted Outline’s project concept into a more robust project Proposal. Once completed, the NAMA Facility Board reviews these project Proposals and makes its final decision on projects entering the fully fledged Implementation phase.

The NAMA Facility supports ambitious climate mitigation action in developing countries and emerging economies around the world by providing funding and expertise for the development of Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions, or NAMAs. Within the context of the Paris Agreement, these NAMAs can act as building blocks for Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) implementation, as countries seek innovative solutions to meet their climate mitigation targets. The NAMA Facility’s Donors seek to support countries taking ambitious action in pursuit of these aims.
