London and Berlin. The United Kingdom and Germany jointly announce the intention to commit up to EUR 60 million for the launch of the NAMA Facility’s 7th Call for the submission of NAMA Support Project Outlines. As of 1 April 2020, the 7th Call is officially open for Outline submissions.
The NAMA Facility is closely monitoring the effects of COVID-19 and its spread around the world. Despite these unfortunate circumstances, the NAMA Facility’s Donors remain steadfast in their commitment to keeping global temperature rises well below two degrees Celsius through the mitigation of greenhouse gas emissions and support for carbon-neutral development. The 7th Call launch is therefore proceeding according to schedule. The NAMA Facility will, however, continue to monitor the ongoing situation.
The 7th Call
The 7th Call timeline has been lengthened to provide Outline developers with additional preparatory time, as requested in prior applicant feedback. The NAMA Facility anticipates a strong pipeline of projects to be developed and submitted to the 7th Call.
In order to support applicants during the 7th Call, as in past years, the Technical Support Unit (TSU) of the NAMA Facility provides all necessary application materials on the NAMA Facility website. All application materials are now available online here. Three webinars will also be held to introduce applicants to the 7th Call and support them throughout the Outline development process. The first webinar will be held on 29 April 2020. Furthermore, for specific inquiries pertaining to the 7th Call, please consult the policy on clarification responses here.
Upon the 7th Call’s close, submitted Outlines will undergo a thorough evaluation process. The NAMA Facility’s Board will then select the Outlines to receive support in the Detailed Preparation Phase. During this phase, applicants are provided with financial support to further elaborate NSP Outlines into fully fledged Proposals. A second evaluation process is then undertaken to assess Proposals, and those approved by the NAMA Facility Board will enter the Implementation Phase.
The 7th Call closes at 3pm CEST on 1 September 2020. By this time, all Outlines and related application materials must be delivered to the TSU of the NAMA Facility via the following email address: contact@nama-facility.org.
Founded in 2012, NAMA Facility Donors – the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU); the UK Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS); the European Union and the Danish Ministry of Climate, Energy and Utilities (KEFM) – have until now made available up to EUR 524 million for NAMA Facility climate action.
