The NAMA Facility at the climate change conference in Warsaw

October 30, 2013

Side Event on “Financing the Implementation of Transformational NAMAs through the NAMA Facility”

We cordially invite you to the Side Event on “Financing the Implementation of Transformational NAMAs through the NAMA Facility” organized on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB) and the UK Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC).

BMUB and DECC launched the NAMA Facility during the UN Climate Change Conference in Doha and committed to jointly provide an initial EUR 70 million to support developing countries and emerging economies that show leadership on tackling climate change and that want to implement transformational country-led NAMAs within the existing global mitigation architecture in the short term. 47 outlines were received in the first call for NAMA Support Project Outlines, which closed in September 2013, all of which were evaluated against the NAMA Facility’s General Eligibility and Ambition Criteria.

This side event will present the results of the first call for NAMA Support Project Outlines. Country representatives whose NAMA Support Project Outlines have been pre-selected for support will be invited to introduce their projects.

Venue: UNFCCC Climate Change Conference in Warsaw, Room Vilnius, 1st floor of the National Stadium (EU Side-event room)
Date: Friday 15/11/2013, 1–3 pm
