Mitigation Action Facility Represented at Two Mitigation Events
Last week, representatives from the Mitigation Action Facility were present at two mitigation-related events: the first was an event held by The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) in Abu Dhabi, and the second, run by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) in the UK.
Soeren David, Head of the Technical Support Unit at the Mitigation Action Facility attended the event in Abu Dhabi. Termed “The Second Global Dialogue and Investment-Focused Event” took place from 15 to 17 October, under the Sharm el-Sheikh Mitigation Ambition and Implementation Work Programme (MWP).
The 3-day event was particularly focused on the area of accelerating the just energy transition in transport systems. As transport is one of the Facility’s priority sectors, it was ideally positioned to provide insight and advice on making this transition.
At the event, Mr. David was a panellist and advisor on October 17 event: “Pitch Hub: From Concept to Finance: Preparation and Planning”. Here, Mr. David was able to provide help in sharpening the funding and investment pitches of projects. Check out this video of the event from the UNFCCC, to gain insights for yourself.
Meanwhile, Sector Lead for Energy, Juan David Jaramillo attended the Brazil-UK Industrial Decarbonisation Workshop in London. Building on the internationally-supported Breakthrough Agenda (BA), the event sought to explore new models of international assistance in the fields of the industry and hydrogen.
Again, the Facility was ideally placed to offer and gain insights, with industry another of its priority sectors. Mr. Jaramillo was happy to offer newly gained learnings to the entire team at the Facility.
