To foster exchange with NAMA Support Projects (NSPs) in Implementation Phase and discuss themes of relevance, the Technical Support Unit (TSU) of the NAMA Facility hosts a Virtual NSP meeting twice a year.
On the 22 June, representatives from 18 NSPs in implementation were invited to join the first virtual meeting of the year. The event was hosted by various technical and specialist staff of the TSU, who presented updates on the NAMA Facility’s work and held two interactive sessions on gender mainstreaming and knowledge management.
The beginning of the meeting provided latest news from the portfolio and updates regarding communications and reporting.
The core session focused on the presentation of the current version of the NAMA Facility Gender Vision, which aims to transform the portfolio to support gender-responsive NSPs. Participants shared what they consider to be gender-responsive aspects from their projects, as well as any reported outcomes and associated challenges surrounding this topic.
The second core session revolved around knowledge management, during which the TSU and external knowledge management experts shared information on the Knowledge Creation Strategy and its overarching objective, namely, to “enable a strategic and targeted approach to collect and disseminate experiences and lessons learnt, with a focus on the NSPs.” The Knowledge Creation Strategy is current under review and, as part of the target audiences (including NSPs, the climate finance community and the broader public) are welcome to share their thoughts via contact(at)nama-facility.org.
The meeting offered a valuable opportunity for NSPs to share knowledge, gain insight into the challenges faced in the Implementation Phase of the NAMA Facility project cycle and for NSPs to learn from each other.
Besides the biannual Virtual NSP Meeting, the TSU organises exchanges between NSPs in the form of thematic working groups on the following topics: energy efficiency, financial mechanisms, transport and financial management.
