Review NAMA Facility at ISWA World Congress in Serbia

On 20 September 2016 the NAMA Facility joined a panel on Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions (NAMAs) in the waste sector at the International Solid Waste Association (ISWA) World Congress in Novi Sad, Serbia. The panel was hosted by the German Environment Agency (UBA). Sören David, Head of the Technical Support Unit to the NAMA Facility, gave a presentation on designing NAMAs in the waste sector and shared experiences from the NAMA Facility with the audience. Sören David outlined the main features of the Chinese NAMA Support Project “Integrated Waste Management NAMA” and how this project attempts to trigger transformational change leading to a low emission pathway. The Chinese NAMA Support Project has been selected for support by the NAMA Facility in December 2015. The current 4th Call for projects is open until 31 October 2016.
