The NAMA Facility has released a special feature story focused on energy projects, consisting of projects in energy efficiency and renewable energy sectors. Together, these sectors represent the largest share of the current portfolio.
Curious to see how end users, including households, small business owners and employees in industrial or manufacturing facilities benefit from the green technology that NAMA Support Projects (NSPs) help to deliver, the NAMA Facility asked six projects across three regions about their experiences with a variety of technologies. Interventions include building retrofit technologies, green fridges and small-scale renewable energy. The countries featured include Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Kenya, Mongolia and India.
Various topics are covered, including how NSPs connected with stakeholders and experts virtually, created and use online applications or mobile apps and finally, conducted outreach on project activities via social media. The publication also presents lessons learnt from various projects’ experience with rapidly transitioning to virtual tools. Ultimately, green technology not only helps partner countries meet their climate goals but also facilitates social development and economic prosperity.
