The NAMA Facility is hosting a COP22 side event “NAMAs as building blocks to drive NDC Implementation – Reflections from the NAMA Facility”, 15:30–17:00, 8 November 2016, Nordic Pavilion (Blue Zone). The event is co-organised by: the Danish Ministry of Energy, Utilities and Climate, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of Thailand, the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development of Colombia and the Ministry of Environment and Energy of Costa Rica.

The objective of the side event is to demonstrate how Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions (NAMAs) can be structured to deliver NDC commitments. Lessons learnt from the early experiences of the NAMA Facility’s focus on catalyzing transformational change towards sustainable low emissions development in a number of developing countries in Asia and Latin America, will be showcased. Country partners Colombia, Costa Rica and Thailand, will provide examples drawn from diverse sectors such as low emissions transport, agriculture and refrigeration and air conditioning.

There will be a video and photo documentation of the event available on our website shortly after the event.
