In December last year, at COP28, we announced a significant milestone in our journey towards decarbonisation and sustainable transformation: the establishment of our Advisory Committee. Today, we’d like to tell you a little bit more about the Committee.
The Advisory Committee: what it is, and what it does
As a leader in climate mitigation, the Mitigation Action Facility recognises the importance of expert guidance and strategic insights to steer our projects. The Advisory Committee emerged out of this vision, comprising of seasoned professionals and experts in the climate finance and sustainability spaces.
The primary objective of the Advisory Committee is to enhance the effectiveness and impact of the Facility’s projects . This distinguished group will provide strategic counsel, expert opinions, and valuable insights on emerging trends, ensuring that the Facility remains at the forefront of driving sectoral decarbonisation and financing innovative climate solutions that catalyse sector-wide transformational change.
Meeting at regular intervals throughout the year, the Committee will help the Facility in three main areas:
- Strategic Guidance: The Committee will offer strategic guidance on the Facility’s overarching goals, ensuring alignment with global climate agendas and best practices.
- Global Perspective: With a diverse and global perspective, the Committee will advise on how the Facility can adapt its strategies to address the unique challenges faced by different regions.
- Network Expansion: Leveraging their extensive networks, Committee members will facilitate partnerships and collaborations, expanding the Facility’s reach and impact.
