On 21 June 2019, the Climate Investment Funds (CIF) and NAMA Facility jointly co-hosted a workshop entitled “Transformational Change in International Climate Finance” at the Bundeskunsthalle in Bonn, Germany.
The workshop saw nearly 100 representatives in attendance from a vast array of climate finance and other international organisations. The event provided a platform for sharing and discussing work related to Transformational Change. Moderated by Katharina Paetz from the NAMA Facility, this exchange was kicked off by a thought-provoking and fascinating panel consisting of:
Philipp Behrens, Head of Division, International Climate Initiative, BMU
Anna Williams, Director, Transformational Change Learning Partnership, CIF
Nadav Lavi, Monitoring and Evaluation Advisor, BEIS
Gunnar Wegner, Advisor, Technical Support Unit, NAMA Facility
Sören David, Head of the Technical Support Unit, NAMA Facility
This strong panel represents the considerable amount of existing knowledge related to Transformational Change and ambitious climate action, and the workshop sought to offer a space where representatives from across the climate finance landscape could come together to share and expound on the increasingly vital topic.
During the workshop, representatives from the C40 Cities Finance Facility, CIF, Green Climate Fund, NAMA Facility and the Initiative for Climate Action Transparency represented by UNEP DTU Partnership also shared approaches toward Transformational Change in a World Café format, sparking engaged and collaborative exchanges during subsequent co-working sessions.
The day concluded with inspiring remarks from Sherwin Cotta of BEIS, whose words offered an eloquent wrap-up of the day and an inspiring push for continued climate action.
CIF and the NAMA Facility would like to thank all participants for their contributions and for making the workshop a success. A full gallery of the photos taken is available.
