The Mitigation Action Facility is proud to launch its new promotional video: a 90-second look at how we help countries take climate ambition to reality.
The video highlights our Mongolia – Building Retrofitting. By combining policy reform with effective financing, affordable energy retrofits have improved the lives of over 53,000 residents. The retrofits are paid for through monthly utility bills, creating a scalable model for low-carbon buildings.
Since 2013, the Mitigation Action Facility has supported 66 projects in 38 countries. Together they have delivered:
- 13.4 million tCO₂e in emission reductions
- 30.3 million people benefitting
- More than €2 billion mobilised from public and private partners
Backed by €835 million in donor commitments, we are building a pipeline of solutions that can transform entire sectors.
But we don’t stop at finance. From industrial decarbonisation to renewable-powered electrification, we:
- Strengthen policies to create enabling frameworks for change.
- Develop institutional capacities so countries can lead their own transitions.
- Accelerate the deployment of clean technologies across energy, industry, and transport.
We de-risk investments, provide in-depth technical support for project design, and mobilise additional capital. This turns ambitious ideas into solutions ready for investment and implementation in emerging markets and developing economies. Each project is tailored to the country’s needs, developed in close partnership with national stakeholders, and designed to be scalable and replicable across sectors and regions.
