The Mitigation Action Facility has released a new publication highlighting its role as a Knowledge and Learning Hub, showcasing how learning is systematically embedded across its portfolio of ambitious climate mitigation projects in energy, transport, and industry. As both a climate fund and a learning platform, the Mitigation Action Facility connects projects, stakeholders, and the wider climate finance community to ensure that lessons from implementation inform ongoing work and enable replication at scale.
The publication outlines how the Knowledge and Learning Hub operates across four interlinked dimensions:
- People: connecting projects in preparation and implementation, as well as engaging the broader public through structured exchange formats
- Processes: enabling continuous, evidence-based learning from successes and challenges
- Technology: using digital tools and knowledge products to facilitate knowledge sharing within and beyond the Facility
- Governance: guiding learning activities through dedicated policies and frameworks
It features concrete examples of co-learning in action, including:
- Women’s empowerment in energy efficiency and waste management projects in Brazil and India
- Cross-project learning between Thailand and Costa Rica on life-cycle greenhouse gas data collection
- Financial mechanism innovation in Tunisia, inspired by lessons from Colombia, mobilising an additional EUR 20 million for clean energy access
Overall, the publication demonstrates how structured exchange, evaluations, webinars, working groups, and digital tools turn experience into actionable knowledge – strengthening project effectiveness and contributing to scalable, resilient climate action in line with the Paris Agreement.
