Learning Study Three Summary: Stakeholder Engagement in Mitigation Action Facility Projects
Effective stakeholder engagement is essential for delivering ambitious climate action, but there is no single approach that works in every context. This Learning Study brings together evidence from Evaluation and Learning Exercises (ELEs) across the Mitigation Action Facility portfolio to explore how projects engage stakeholders throughout design and implementation.
Drawing on lessons from implementation and Detailed Preparation Phase (DPP) projects, the publication identifies common stakeholder engagement strategies, examines the challenges and enabling factors that influence project delivery, and highlights practical good practices from across the portfolio. It concludes with actionable recommendations to help projects strengthen stakeholder engagement, manage stakeholder-related risks adaptively, and support long-term impact and transformational change.
