The Mitigation Action Facility launches the Call for Projects 2026
Key features of the 2026 Call for Projects
The Mitigation Action Facility has opened its Call for Projects 2026, which was launched during COP 30 on 14 November 2025. This year’s Call, with an overall funding volume of EUR 100 million, provides grant-based funding for projects that combine both Technical Assistance (TA) and Financial Cooperation (FC). Each project can apply for up to EUR 25 million.
The 2026 Call focuses on supporting transformational climate mitigation initiatives across the energy, industry, and transport sectors, while also welcoming proposals with cross-sectoral linkages to one of these sectors. The Call for Projects 2026 continues to emphasise the implementation of ambitious Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), in the context of NDC 3.0, and introduces key refinements to further drive ambitious action in line with partner countries’ long-term strategies and national climate objectives.
New and updated elements in 2026
- Streamlined project cycle and process
- Introduction of Lighthouse Pilot Projects
- Support for carbon markets through Technical Cooperation (TC)
