Strengthening collaboration across the portfolio: latest Knowledge and Learning Hub activities

December 15, 2025

As part of its role as a growing Knowledge & Learning Hub, the Mitigation Action Facility convened three key learning and exchange activities in December 2025. These engagements brought together project teams from across the portfolio to share insights, build networks, and strengthen capacities during both implementation and preparation phases.

Virtual project meeting – Second session in 2025 (10 December 2025)

The second virtual project meeting of the year brought together representatives from all active projects. The session served as an open platform for collaborative learning and dialogue. The Technical Support Unit (TSU) shared key operational updates, while project teams had the chance to raise questions and exchange on challenges related to the new carbon market policy and the annual reporting process.

This collective reflection is an integral part of the Mitigation Action Facility’s approach to strengthening impact through continuous learning. Insights gathered from this meeting will feed directly into planning for the 2026 Knowledge & Learning Hub activities.

GESI working group – Kick-off meeting (10 December 2025)

Recognising the importance of gender equality and social inclusion (GESI) in transformational mitigation action, the TSU hosted the inaugural meeting of its new GESI working group. The session brought together GESI focal persons and technical specialists from across the portfolio to build a shared understanding of needs, priorities, and opportunities for collaboration.

Participants discussed approaches for integrating GESI considerations into technical and financial components, shared early experiences from their projects, and explored how the working group can serve as a space for targeted peer support. The meeting also introduced upcoming GESI priorities for 2026.

DPP learning exchange – Thematic session (15 December 2025)

As part of its continuous support to projects in the Detailed Preparation Phase (DPP), the TSU convened the next session of the DPP learning exchange. Building on the foundations established earlier this year, this interactive meeting enabled DPP teams to exchange on critical preparation challenges and learn from experiences of other projects. These were linked to M&E topics and GHG mitigation.

The session featured inputs from the TSU and peer advice sessions. The DPP learning exchange continues to provide a safe and collaborative environment for strengthening Project Concepts and building a community of practice among project developers.

Looking ahead

Together, these three December engagements underscore our commitment to fostering meaningful exchange, strengthening capacities, and deepening collaboration across the portfolio. As we look to 2026, the Knowledge & Learning Hub will continue to expand its offerings for active projects – ensuring that knowledge, learning, and communication remain at the core of the Mitigation Action Facility’s mission to drive ambitious, just, and effective climate action. Stay tuned for our upcoming Knowledge & Learning Hub publication, which will spotlight the breadth of our activities and showcase concrete examples of how we support learning and collaboration across the portfolio.
