The Mitigation Action Facility has published a new one-pager to support future Applicants in preparing robust and compelling Concept submissions for upcoming Call for Projects. Based on lessons learnt from the assessment of numerous Concepts submitted under the 2025 Call for Projects, the document outlines frequent challenges and shortcomings observed by experts from the Technical Support Unit (TSU).
Key areas covered include:
- Striking a balance between technical assistance and financial components
- Developing credible financial models
- Selecting technologies suited to local conditions with proven GHG mitigation potential
- Designing technical assistance that directly addresses policy or regulatory barriers
- Understanding and responding to market conditions and demonstrating additionality
The resource also includes sector-specific tips for projects in energy, transport, and industry, reminding applicants to tailor their approaches to sector dynamics and national contexts.
This one-pager complements our growing library of factsheets, templates, and tools available through the Knowledge & Learning Hub, and is designed to support both new and returning Applicants in avoiding common missteps.
