End-of-year newsletter: Q4 highlights from the Mitigation Action Facility!
The fourth edition of our quarterly newsletter is out now!
Subscribers have just received updates from the fourth quarter of 2025, closing out a dynamic and impactful year. As the year drew to a close, momentum continued to build. From advancing transformative projects and strengthening peer learning to showcasing impact at major international climate events, the Mitigation Action Facility has continued to support partner countries in accelerating decarbonisation and delivering on their climate commitments.

Here’s a preview of what you’ll find if you subscribe to our newsletter:
From our projects
Across our portfolio, projects are demonstrating practical solutions to reduce emissions, scale innovative technologies, and achieve transformational change.

Among others, we featured our Rwanda – E-Mobility project, which held targeted consultations with women e-moto operators to gather insights to inform the design of its Rebate Programme, led by the Rwanda Green Fund (RGF). The consultations explored constraints, needs, and opportunities to ensure that women are positioned not just as beneficiaries, but as key ambassadors of Rwanda’s e-mobility transition.
From the Call for Projects
The newsletter is one of your go-to source for staying up to date with our Call for Projects process.

We have published key resources to support applicants in preparing their Project Concepts for the Call for Projects 2026. These include comprehensive guidance materials such as the General Information Document, FAQs, webinars, tutorial, templates and other relevant publications.
From events and other engagements
We remain committed to learning and knowledge exchange – both within our portfolio and with the wider climate finance community.

Therefore, as part of its role as a growing Knowledge and Learning Hub, the Mitigation Action Facility convened three key learning and exchange activities in December 2025. These engagements brought together project teams from across the portfolio to share insights, build networks, and strengthen capacities during both implementation and preparation phases.
During the COP30 in Belém, Brazil, the Mitigation Action Facility officially launched the Call for Projects 2026, with the event “From pledges to projects – scaling sectoral decarbonisation.” Applicants are invited to submit their Project Concepts via the Open Application Platform (OAP) by 25 February 2026 at 3 p.m. CET.
New resources from the Mitigation Action Facility
Through new publications, we capture and share evidence from our portfolio – turning project results and evaluations into practical knowledge.

The Mitigation Action Facility’s new report explores how catalytic financial mechanisms, ranging from grants to guarantees, are helping turn NDC ambition into concrete climate action by unlocking private capital at scale. Drawing evidence from across the portfolio, it provides practical recommendations for policymakers and practitioners working to build carbon-neutral markets in emerging and developing economies.
