Medellín Climate Week

September 28, 2026

Climate Week Medellín brings the Climate Week platform to Latin America for the first time. Building on editions in cities such as New York, London and San Francisco, the format connects actors, ideas and solutions to accelerate climate action, and its arrival in Medellín recognises the city as a regional reference point for urban innovation and territorial transformation. From 28 September to 10 October 2026, the city will host conferences, innovation labs, cultural activations and events led by a wide range of organisations under the banner “Cities that turn ideas into climate action”.

The programme is organised around six thematic tracks: nature, water and AFOLU; energy and the transition; sustainable and resilient cities; climate finance; circular economy; and carbon markets. Together they cover ecosystem protection and sustainable agriculture, renewable energy and decarbonisation, clean mobility and air quality, impact investment and sustainable financing, circular production models, and carbon credit mechanisms.

Climate Week Medellín combines a central event with a decentralised, city-wide agenda led by organisations, collectives, companies, universities and institutions. Organisers expect more than 200 parallel events, over 5,000 attendees and more than 2,000 international delegates, alongside open city experiences.

The Mitigation Action Facility will be actively participating in Climate Week Medellín 2026 through the participation of Juan David Jaramillo, Desk Officer in a panel disussion titled “How can catalytic capital and innovative financing mechanisms help transform promising concepts into bankable projects capable of attracting large-scale investment?.” As well as particpation in other events troughout the week.
