Global Green Industrialization Dialogue (GGID) in Vienna 7-8 July

July 7, 2025

The Mitigation Action Facility will be attending a two day event in Vienna at the Vienna International Centre in Austra. The Global Green Industrialization Dialogue (GGID) is high-level event which will convene a select group of government leaders, industry CEOs, financiers, and policy and technical experts to shape the Global Green Industrialization Pact—a new voluntary mechanism to align climate ambition with inclusive industrial transformation.

Over the course of two days, participants will engage in focused plenaries and eight thematic roundtables designed to deliver outcomes across four core pillars: Finance, Innovation and Technology, People, and Resilient Cleantech Supply Chains. Key topics will include scaling green industrial investments, advancing clean technologies, strengthening supply chain resilience, and ensuring equity and inclusion in the transition.

On the second day of the event, a representative from the Mitigation Action Facility will be in attendance at a meeting of the COP30 Working Group on Green Industry Support for Emerging Markets and Developing Economies (EMDEs). The initiative is intended to develop a common political statement or shared charter to speed up action for industry decarbonisation, with a focus on EMDEs. It reinforces the momentum of the COP29 Pledge by broadening support from donors and EMDE partners. The Working Group will be facilitated by the Global Matchmaking Platform (GMP) and the Breakthrough Agenda (BA), and coordinated by UNIDO.

The Working Group is meeting as part of the Global Green Industrialization Dialogue (GGID). Read more about the Working Group meeting here and about the Global Green Industrialization Dialogue (GGID) here.
