After taking on leadership of the Technical Support Unit (TSU) in late 2025, the Head of the TSU reflects on a year of progress, lessons learnt, and what lies ahead for the Mitigation Action Facility.

Philipp Munzinger
Head of the TSU to the Mitigation Action Facility

2025 was a year of progress, momentum and continued impact for the Mitigation Action Facility.

As the urgency of climate action continues to grow, so too does the demand for ambitious, scalable solutions. Throughout the year, we strengthened our portfolio of transformational mitigation projects across the energy, transport, and industry sectors, supporting partner countries in turning climate ambition into tangible action. Through a combination of climate finance, technical assistance, knowledge exchange, and partnerships, we helped create the conditions for long-term sector transformation and sustainable emissions reductions.

Looking ahead, we are building on a strong and growing pipeline of investment-ready projects with the potential to deliver lasting climate impact. At the same time, we are placing even greater emphasis on effective implementation, learning, and the generation of evidence that can help scale successful approaches across countries and sectors.”

As the Mitigation Action Facility continues to evolve, it remains committed to working with an expanding community of partners, investors and implementing organisations to accelerate just and sustainable transitions. Together, we can help ensure that ambitious climate commitments translate into meaningful action and results on the ground.
